Costa Rica is known as one of the happiest countries on Earth and this is why many foreigners are moving to or purchasing a vacation home here. The country is flourishing in tourism and has many deals in purchasing property or real estate. Since Costa Rica is such a tourist country the locals are learning English and creating customs similar to the United States. During the economical crunch in the United States you will find many good deals on real estate in Costa Rica (from renting to buying homes, condos and land). There are many paradise properties in Costa Rica but a prime place to begin looking is Tamarindo, Costa Rica. The amount of new condos and homes are in abundant. There are also many older homes and condos for sale as well. The owners are trying to sell out quickly at a low price in order to stay above the economy. Make sure if you visit Costa Rica you check out not only basic real estate but take a look at Tamrindo Luxury real estate. More often than not the nicer homes and condos are the better deal to buy. There are choices such as apartments, condos, and different types of single family homes available. The two basic locations that are most popular are the inland locations near San Jose and locations near the beach (such as Tamarindo, Papagayo and more). The prices of properties fluctuate with global trends. Like many other places insurance, titles and zoning need to be considered before committing to anything. If you are thinking about purchasing property or a house in Costa Rica then you should keep in mind a few things. Firstly unlike the U.S or in some European countries Costa Rica does not have an equivalent of Multiple Listing Service. Speak to local real estate agents to find out what exactly there is to look at and what are the steps in purchasing real estate. At present like most places in the world real-estate buying has slowed down dramatically and prices have leveled off and in some places has dropped. So if you are thinking of buying real estate in Costa Rica then now is the time to do it. In the last 10 years more and more people from around the world are choosing to retire and stay in Costa Rica. Many foreigners to the country are interested in homes near the coast. These will obviously be higher in price and prestige than homes inland near the capital and mountain regions. There are 2 coast lines in Costa Rica, the Pacific and the Caribbean Sea. The pacific side is famous for its surfing and snorkeling where as the Caribbean Sea has a more laid back atmosphere. Unlike most other Central American countries Costa Rica is a quiet and stable country. Make sure when inquiring for real estate you find a reputable agent to help you through the process.
