Searching for a fabulous and inexpensive destination for retirement can be quite frustrating when you have no clue what and where to look. If you are looking for your dream haven to stay if not this life then at least for a couple of years, please pack your bags and follow me, I will show you where the top 3 cheapest places to retire are.
There are some simple guidelines to follow while looking for a low cost destinations. The first one is to look for places that are easy to get to, unless you want spend a fortune to get yourself transported there. Next, try to live away from the cities and commercial area, housing cost and rent tends to be lower in the sub urban area. If you are one of those lucky ones who earn strong currency, it would be wise to leverage on the exchange and look for locations in Asia or Central America and stay in the cities that offer better living quality.
The Top 3 Cheapest Places to Retire:
Costa Rica: The life here is pretty much casual, enclosed in most natural beautiful sights like – mountains, volcanoes, forests, beaches and national parks. It’s tropical weather provides opportunities to explore the wildlife, sharpen your surfing skill or even learn and practice Spanish. Cost of living in the city San Jose starts from $500 a month, rent for a small house at the sub urban area cost $250 a month. Have a good meal out cost $5.00-6.00. Buying groceries from local market will cost much less than the supermarket. There are also tax benefits for foreigner residing in Costa Rica. English is widely spoken and you’d be entitled to the same rights as a Costa Rican national.
Australia: The land “down under” Offers contemporary living qualities, equivalent to that in any of the developed cities around the world. A rich mix of migrant culture exist in the urban places lends itself to the uniqueness. A short drive away and you will find yourself immersed in its natural beauty and various landscapes unsurpassed in any other country. Things to do includes visiting sites of natural wonders, historic towns, vineyards, wildlife and loads of great outdoor activities. What attracted me most in Australia would be it’s weather, where you can literally experience 4 seasons with no real winter in most places.
Malaysia: One of the cheapest places to retire in Asia, the cities has a colorful mix of foreign and domestic cultures, where people of different race and religion lives in harmony. Kuala Lumpur is a modern cosmopolitan capital with convenience you can find in top cities worldwide. If you are an outdoor person, Malaysia has the best diving spots, oldest tropical rainforest and miles of coastal beaches all within hours of drive away. The cost of 2 bedrooms apartment rental start at $230 per month. Food from most parts of the world can be easily found in large shopping malls. English is widely spoken in cities as the subject is compulsory in school. Since the launch of Malaysia Second Home program, there is an increase in number Briton, American, Australian and Canadians going there to own properties and live in Malaysia. It’s strategic geographical location and budget airline hub allows travelling to many neighbouring destinations on a small expense.
